Miyoko Ohtake lives, plays, and works in the San Francisco Bay Area. She is a distance runner, cyclist, former figure skater, writer and editor, project and program manager, and advocate of sports and outdoor experiences as means to promote change and physical and character development.
Miyoko works at the Bay Area Women’s Sports Initiative (aka BAWSI, pronounced “bossy”) and serves the Peninsula region as an Athlete Engagement Coordinator. She is also a volunteer grant writer for Special Olympics of Northern California and the volunteer coordinator for the 2012 Girls on the Run of Silicon Valley 5K.
